Dayfill Privacy
1. Overview
Dayfill is a calm focus tracker that turns completed sessions into a visual timeline. It is designed to work locally on your device by default and does not require a Dayfill account.
2. What Dayfill stores
- Completed focus sessions and their timing details.
- In-progress active timer state.
- Flow Tags and related preferences.
- Review inputs and derived recap content shown in the app.
- Settings such as reminders, haptics, appearance, onboarding state, AI preferences, and premium preferences.
- Subscription status needed to unlock Dayfill Plus features.
3. How the data is used
- Show your Today timeline, session history, and Review screens.
- Restore an active timer after relaunch when possible.
- Generate day, week, and month review summaries.
- Store reusable Flow Tags and appearance choices.
- Schedule local reminder notifications selected by the user.
- Support Dayfill Plus themes, recap export, and sync options.
4. Local storage and iCloud sync
Dayfill stores app data on-device by default. If you turn on Dayfill Plus iCloud Sync, your session history, active timer state, and related app data can also follow you through your personal iCloud account using Apple services.
If iCloud Sync is off, Dayfill stays on this device unless you explicitly export or share content.
5. Analytics and measurement
The launch build of Dayfill uses Firebase Analytics for limited product measurement.
Dayfill may send events such as app opens, screen views, session starts, session completions, review navigation, settings toggles, paywall views, and purchase flow events.
Dayfill does not use the advertising identifier for that analytics setup and does not use Firebase Analytics for cross-app tracking or ad personalization. If analytics behavior changes in a future release, Dayfill will update its privacy disclosures and App Store privacy answers accordingly.
6. AI features
Dayfill Plus suggestions, motivation copy, and reflection recaps are designed to stay on your device when available. On supported devices, Dayfill may use Apple intelligence features. On devices that do not support that, or when AI Assist is turned off, Dayfill uses its standard wording instead.
Dayfill does not send your focus-session content to a developer-run AI server in the current app design.
7. Notifications, Live Activities, and sharing
If you allow notifications, Dayfill can schedule local reminders on your device for active sessions.
If you enable the Lock Screen Live Timer, Dayfill can show active session timing information through Apple Live Activities on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
If you export a reflection card, Dayfill creates the image locally and hands it to the iOS share sheet so you choose where it goes.
8. Purchases and subscriptions
Dayfill offers optional Dayfill Plus subscriptions through Apple subscriptions. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and restoring purchases are managed by Apple. Dayfill receives only the purchase status needed to unlock subscription features.
9. Third-party sharing
Dayfill does not sell your personal data. Outside of Apple platform services used by the app and Firebase Analytics when enabled, the app does not share your app data with third parties for advertising or data-broker purposes.
10. Retention and control
Dayfill data remains stored until you change it, delete it in the app, or remove the app from your device.
If iCloud Sync is enabled, deleting or editing sessions and Flow Tags while sync is active is intended to update the synced copy tied to your private iCloud account as well. If you switch back to keeping Dayfill on one device, Dayfill keeps your history here and stops future syncing on this device. That does not by itself promise immediate deletion of copies already stored through your Apple account.
Dayfill does not offer a separate in-app export or deletion console for Firebase Analytics event data. When analytics is enabled for a build, that event data follows Google's Firebase retention and deletion controls rather than the timeline controls inside Dayfill.
- Delete or edit saved sessions from within the app.
- Remove Flow Tags and local preferences in the app.
- Turn off notifications or Live Activities in app settings or iOS Settings.
- Keep data on one device by leaving iCloud Sync turned off.
- Delete sessions or Flow Tags while iCloud Sync is enabled if you want those changes to propagate through synced Dayfill data.
- Use Apple account or iCloud storage controls if you need to manage copies stored in your private iCloud account.
- Remove the app to delete its on-device data.
- Contact privacy@orvynhq.com for privacy, access, deletion, consent-revocation, or GDPR requests.
If iCloud Sync is enabled, synced Dayfill data is also subject to your Apple account and iCloud storage controls.
